Sea Me North: Beach Day
In August, we spent an afternoon at the beach with our lived experience experts. Much fun was had, with some playing football, collecting shells, dipping in the sea, talking, meditating, and all enjoying a lovely fish and chips lunch. We were joined by Herbert the dog, who thoroughly enjoyed his sausage too! The sun, the sand, the background laughter from people enjoying themselves facilitated conversations that spanned all degrees of seriousness, from the deep sharing of very personal experiences to the light-hearted banter and joking. People made plans to spend more time together and try new things. This was another opportunity to create a space where the academic team and lived experience colleagues could enjoy being together and foster a sense of community.
